Chase the Lockdown 2 Blues Away with Walking Shoes

As Lockdown 2 comes into force across England on Thursday 5th November, we are aware that it will be tough for everybody. However, if you see our groups out and about please rest assured that it is not a bunch of people disregarding the COVID group rules but a professionally organised, OUTDOOR EXERCISE session with strict COVID 19 protocols in place. If the session you see is listed on our search portal WALX With Sole we can assure you it is being conducted in a COVID 19 secure manner.

Exercise is vital as part of our fight against COVID 19 and our groups are lead by fully qualified Instructors who are trained to help people gain and maintain all aspects of fitness in safe but sociable groups.

The measures we have in place are very comprehensive and include:-

All participants MUST register and completed health screening which includes COVID 19 questions and is updated EVERY TIME they book a session

This comprehensive booking system also enables us to place participants in small group ‘bubbles’ or, as in the case at the moment, 1-2-1 bubbles, so we can work with NHS track and Trace to immediately identify who has walked with anyone who may subsequently show symptoms.

On walks, we remain 2 metres apart and ensure that leaders are aware of ‘droplet spread’ when positioning people.

We are insured for a group size of up to 30 but conduct rigorous risk assessment to ascertain a safe group size which they manage with additional leaders where necessary. But as of 5th November, we are only walking in pairs. As a COVID secure business, delivering EXERCISE the Government guidelines state that it is acceptable to do this.

People can exercise outdoors or visit an outdoor public place, can meet a personal trainer and wherever possible, but you must limit your travel time and stay local.

Masks and hand sanitisers are provided with the latter being advised for meet and greet areas such as car parks where social distancing may be difficult (we do not advise masks to be worn during exercise in accordance with WHO guidelines) All participants also carry hand sanitiser and use it after touching any gates or railings etc.en route although these are generally managed by leaders.

All routes are risk assessed to avoid busy areas, contact with other members of the public/exercisers and ‘pinch points where distancing is not possible. As mentioned above all routes and locations are risk assessed in accordance with safe group size.

Most regular users use their own poles or equipment and where equipment is used for TUITION purposes, it is thoroughly cleaned and if necessary put into quarantine for 72 hours.

Our groups will look they are out having fun (because Exercise can be fun) but we are also providing the mood-boosting effects of being outdoors with nature and helping people avoid isolation – we take health and wellbeing seriously and would not put anyone at risk

Finally, we do appreciate some people are not comfortable with heading out in a group so we support them virtually as well via our ON LINE EXERCISE SESSIONS  for all levels
